Three Regional Business Leaders Named to New North Board of Directors
Brenner, Coley, Westphal bring Expertise in Pillar Industries of Construction, Law, and Insurance
Regional leaders Holly Brenner of C.D. Smith Construction, Sherry Coley of Amundsen Davis and David Westphal of USI Insurance Services have been named to the board of directors of New North Inc., the regional economic development corporation for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin.
“We are excited to add these three inventive leaders from across our region,” said Barb LaMue, president and CEO of New North Inc. “They represent pillar industries within the New North and their perspectives will benefit us greatly.”
Holly Brenner, holding a bachelor’s degree — along with an MBA degree, from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, is the senior vice president of strategic development and marketing for C.D. Smith Construction, a provider of commercial construction services headquartered in Fond du Lac. Prior to joining the company in February 2020, she held executive leadership roles in healthcare for nearly a decade, first with Agnesian HealthCare, then with SSM Health following a 2018 merger.
Brenner has extensive experience in strategic planning, marketing and business development.
Sherry Coley, a Neenah native who graduated magna cum laude from Drake University and received her juris doctorate from Marquette University Law School, is the managing partner for the Appleton and Green Bay offices of Amundsen Davis, a full-service business law firm. She leads a collaborative team of attorneys and staff to deliver bottom-line results and exceptional client service.
Serving clients for more than 20 years, Coley primarily works with businesses on complex corporate litigation matters with an emphasis on contract disputes, intellectual property infringement and financial services litigation.
David Westphal, holding a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, is the Wisconsin property & casualty practice leader for USI Insurance Services, one of the largest insurance brokerage and consulting firms in the world. Based in Kimberly, he oversees the P&L within the state while also focusing on new business growth, client retention and team expansion. Under his leadership, the Wisconsin practice has become one of the fastest-growing offices of USI.
Westphal began his professional career with the Green Bay Packers, working in sales and marketing for seven years, before transitioning to insurance in June 2010.
Advanced by New North’s board development committee and subsequently approved by the full Board, their board terms took effect on July 1st with the start of the new fiscal year.
