New Wall of Fame Honors Botanical Garden Volunteers
In memory of Jim Tubbs, to thank Jim and all volunteers who have helped through the years, his family and friends gave generously to help support a new Volunteer Wall of Fame in the lower level of the Green Bay Botanical Garden’s Schneider Education Center.
Appropriately, Jim volunteered often with his chainsaw to help remove dead and fallen trees on the Garden’s 47 acres. He was an active volunteer since the late 1990s, when he retired. Both he and his wife, Dixie, were avid volunteers throughout the years; Jim helped direct cars in the parking lot during WPS Garden of Lights while Dixie helped in admissions.
The leaves on the tree (there’s space for about 150), will memorialize volunteers who have given an average of 100 hours or more to the Garden over the course of five years or more, or a lifetime of 1,000 hours.
