Posted on 9-05-2024

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department, the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Brown County (ADRC), and the Brown County Fall Prevention Partnership are announcing their collaboration to raise awareness and offer prevention programs in our community for National Falls Prevention Awareness Month in September.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department responds to various emergencies each year. In 2023, they received 16,940 calls for service, with falls among the elderly being the most common emergency. In Brown County, 33 falls are reported daily. While falls are common, they don’t have to be a normal part of aging.
