Heads up! Parking Lot Construction at GRB Austin Straubel International Airport
Traveling this fall? Arrive early at GRB
(Green Bay, WI) A multi-phase improvement project continues this fall at Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), and that means you should plan to arrive a little earlier than usual.
“We’re fortunate to have an airport that is convenient and easy to get in and out of,” said Airport Director, Marty Piette, A.A.E., “but with parking lot improvements underway, and a 15% increase in travelers this past month, there have been more cars than usual in our lots. Plan on arriving an hour and 30 minutes ahead of your flight departure time to avoid rushing.”
The parking lot repaving and safety improvement project began in spring, with sections of the long and short term lots being blocked off in phases throughout the summer and fall for repaving as well as installation of new security fencing and new lighting.
“We’re keeping open as many spots as we can with each phase, but it does take time to complete this large of a project, “explained Piette. “We appreciate everyone’s patience.”
The parking lots are part of a larger, multi-year improvement plan that includes enhancements to the exterior of the main terminal facility, runway repaving and roadway improvements. It is anticipated that most of the GRB work will be completed by the end of 2024.
