Green Bay Athletics Welcomes Grace Morgan as Assistant Coach of Swimming & Diving
Head Coach Alex Lewis has appointed Grace Morgan as Assistant Coach of the swimming and diving program. Morgan recently graduated from UW-Green Bay and was a four-year letterwinner on the swimming and diving team, specializing in the distance freestyle and IM.
“I’m thrilled to add Grace to our staff in a full-time role!” said Lewis. “Nobody understands our culture in a more genuine, unselfish way than Grace Morgan. She will bring a hunger to learn, positive energy, and her familiarity with the program will make this a smooth transition for her and the team!”
“It’s also an extremely proud moment for me as a coach to hire a former swimmer of mine and alumni of the program!” Lewis continued. “This program has always been, at its core, about family and community. I’d like to think this hire speaks to those values.”
Morgan was a Team Captain and a Varsity Letter Holder. She capped off her collegiate career this past season by placing third in the 1,000-yard freestyle against in-state rival Milwaukee. Morgan started the 2023-24 campaign by winning the same race against St. Norbert before taking third, fourth, and second place (twice, respectively) in her other appearances of the year. The Edmonds, Washington native also scored inside the top 16 at the Horizon League Championships several times in her career.
“I am thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to give back to the UWGB team and community that helped shape me into the person I am today,” said Morgan. “I want to thank Coach Lewis and the athletic department and appreciate their trust and confidence in me. Go Phoenix!”
