Dick & Sharon Resch Announce Major Gift to Green Bay Athletics

Green Bay Athletics is pleased to announce a recent major gift from Dick and Sharon Resch in support of men’s basketball excellence at UW-Green Bay (UWGB). This gift will serve as a challenge match to encourage others to give to the IGNITE Phoenix Men’s Basketball Fund through the UWGB Foundation.

The IGNITE Phoenix Men’s Basketball Fund is focused on providing Phoenix student-athletes and coaches with the resources they need in their pursuit of excellence, with a focus on elevating the profile and status of Phoenix basketball to ensure Green Bay is in a position of strength in today’s challenging Division I landscape

The Resch name has long been synonymous with Green Bay Basketball as the Phoenix have called the Resch Center home since its opening in 2002.

“We are so grateful to Dick and Sharon Resch for their amazing gift to Phoenix Basketball,” said Director of Athletics Josh Moon. “It is such an important time for this program, as we continue to build and ensure sustained excellence. Seeing the Resch Center come alive last year and hearing from so many long-time supporters on why Phoenix basketball should always be a shining light for this region is why we need everyone’s help to invest right now. We have a goal of raising over $2.5M in gifts and pledges over the next 5 years, and we have raised $1.5M thus far. We are on the right track. Thank you to the Resch’s and all those who have stepped up so far; I’m confident that this challenge match will help push us over our goal.”
