CP Telethon Changes It Up For 70th Year: One Weekend, Two Events
The 70th Annual CP Telethon, presented by Keller Inc., is quickly approaching, and to commemorate the milestone year, CP is announcing a few changes. While Telethon weekend will still be held the first weekend in March, what happens during the weekend will be new. Saturday, March 2nd will introduce a new online livestream event at CP, while Sunday, March 3rd will feature the live Telethon broadcast on WBAY.
“We are excited to offer a new way for the community to experience Telethon while still holding 70 years of tradition in high regard,” said Kristen Paquet, Director of Donor Engagement & Marketing at CP. “Having two options to experience Telethon opens up new opportunities to share what CP does and interact with the community in a whole new way.”
Telethon Weekend Will Include:
Saturday, March 2nd, from 2 to 4pm | LIVESTREAM EVENT – The community is invited to see a different side of CP during its first ever livestream event. “It’s an opportunity for viewers to actively participate with our staff and clients in real time, through their computer or mobile device,” Paquet said. “Viewers will be invited to ask questions and share ideas with clients and staff as they get a fun and in depth look at what CP means to each person who comes here.”
Hosted by WBAY’s Kristyn Allen, the livestream includes segments on Health & Wellness, focusing on exercise, mindfulness and healthy recipes. This or That features CP’s therapy team providing suggestions on good tools and toys for a child’s development (and ones to avoid). Coffee Klatch, based on a popular class at CP, will focus on what it’s like to have a disability through Q&A and trivia. The last segment will bring in some fun during CP Family Feud.
Sign up is required for counting purposes and the event is free. Secure your viewing spot HERE.
Sunday, March 3rd, from 8am to 6pm | BROADCAST ON WBAY – The CP Telethon tradition continues with the live televised show on WBAY. The day will feature all of the things Telethon has become known for including entertaining performances, exciting three minute matches and amazing client stories, all hosted by several familiar WBAY faces. Of course, VIPs will be on the panel, ready to take your call to pledge your support.
“Having Telethon on WBAY for the last 70 years is a huge milestone we are looking forward to celebrating with the community,” Paquet said. “We’ll be highlighting our history with a few special touches and interviews you won’t want to miss.”
Telethon, presented by Keller, Inc., is CP’s largest fundraiser of the year. Dollars raised go directly back into CP’s programming and services to help families throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
