Camera Corner Connecting Point Receives Regents Award
In a ceremony last Friday afternoon, Universities of Wisconsin Regent Angela Adams and President Jay Rothman, along with UW-Green Bay Chancellor Michael Alexander presented Camera Corner Connecting Point (CCCP) with the Regents Business Partnership Award. The award was presented to the locally owned technology solutions business because of its support and collaboration with the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.
Both Regent Adams and President Rothman shared the importance of community support and partnership between the regional business and UW-Green Bay.
“We hear this all the time,” said Regent Adams, “how critical our students and graduates are to the success of some of Wisconsin’s most significant businesses.” Chancellor Alexander stressed the importance of the Camera Corner Connecting Point partnership for students, the community and the whole state. “Rick [Chernick] and the employees at Camera Corner represent the best of this community and have supported the region in countless ways,” said Alexander. “We are extremely grateful for their commitment and dedication to the success of the region.”
Camera Corner Connecting Point CEO, Rick Chernick,’74, a UW-Green Bay alumnus, accepted the award. He shared his time at UW-Green Bay was a mix between working 40-50 hours a week at his father’s camera store and taking 18 credits per semester to graduate within four years.
