Austin Straubel “GRB” Receives $2‐Million Federal Grant for Snow Removal Equipment
Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) is receiving a $2 million federal grant to purchase two new pieces of airfield snow removal equipment.
“This is good news to receive ahead of our Wisconsin winter,” said GRB Airport Director Marty Piette, A.A.E. “Keeping our runways open and safe is always a priority and having reliable equipment to keep the snow off the runways is a part of that picture.”
GRB will purchase two multi‐function airfield snow removal trucks from M‐B companies of Chilton. Delivery is expected in September 2025, in time for the 2025‐2026 winter season.
“As Wisconsinites, we take pride in not letting the snow stop us from traveling,” said Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach. “But safety must come first whether it’s with our roads or our airport runways. Having new, multi‐function snow removal trucks will help our airport crews do their job more efficiently and effectively so planes can keep flying at GRB year‐round.”
The funding is one of 320 grants being made across the U.S. by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Airport Improvement Program.
