“It’s so exciting to have these committed and dedicated individuals joining with us and providing strategic direction for our efforts,” explained Gateway Collective C.E.O., Dr. Alexia Wood. “They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our organization, which will help ensure the successful launch of our first project, City Center Lofts.”
Steering Committee member Laurie Timmerman said the group is excited about the opportunity to help make history in our community:
“I have seen the need for collaborative, innovative, root cause solutions to our communities’ issues,” she stated. “I believe that the Gateway Collective, and the City Center Lofts provide the root cause solution to the growing and unmet, reasonably priced housing needs of our community. This model is scalable, innovative, financially sustainable, and provides wrap around services to the tenants, all to help solve an unmet need in our community. The project is data driven, reflective of our communities’ voice and has proven leadership at the helm. Who doesn’t want to be part of making history in our community?”
Gateway Collective’s first project is City Center Lofts, located in downtown Green Bay at the site of the former Baylake City Center. City Center Lofts will offer brand new, high-quality rental units with an emphasis on social inclusion and community building. The socially inclusive management model intentionally aims to create community, and integrates access to supportive services that help provide additional stability for young professionals, many of the community’s essential workers, working families trying to establish their households, and older adults who are adjusting to life after retirement. The project will include 72 one-to-four-bedroom units. Most of the units (65) will have a loft layout. Construction of City Center Lofts is underway. It is anticipated the first units will be available for occupancy in the second quarter of 2024.
