Allouez to Host Online Roundtable for Allouez Businesses

Most small businesses are facing uncertain futures due to concerns over how and when the economy is going to change once the Safer At Home Order is lifted.  The Federal Government has put programs in place to help financially, from the PPP (Payroll Protection Plan) to low interest long term loans.

Several municipalities in our area are putting together loan programs to help small businesses.  The question is How much do local municipalities have to loan, and will those amounts be enough to keep businesses’ doors open.

The Village of Allouez is looking at options to help businesses that fall within its boundaries; however, they want to hear directly from the business owners what their current and future needs are.

“The village has limited resources to help our area businesses, but we want to do what we can,” said Brad Lange, Allouez Village Administrator.”  Providing a business that has had its doors closed for two months a loan for $5,000 probably won’t do much to help them long term, so we want to learn as much as we can to help us make smart decisions. We have been in contact with many of the business owners over the last several weeks and are helping to promote those who are still open,” said Lange.

The Village of Allouez is hosting an online business roundtable to hear directly from Allouez business owners and to give them a chance to know they are not alone.  The session is scheduled for Monday, April 20th at 2:00 pm.  Allouez businesses interested in participating in the roundtable should email Brad Lange [email protected] or Trevor Fuller  [email protected]  for information on how to access the meeting online or via the phone.
