New Shorewood Disc Golf Course to Open in August 2024
The visionary work at UW-Green Bay continues. The new Shorewood Disc Golf Course will be available for both student and public use just in time for the start of the 2024 fall semester. The newly designed disc golf course will be located within the updated Shorewood property, allowing even more people to enjoy the beauty of the UW-Green Bay campus. A grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, August 17th, 2024.
The course was designed by nationally known disc golf designer and pro Cale Leiviska. With a degree in Conservation Biology and background in Forest Management, Leiviska brings his love for the sport and expertise in preserving a course’s surrounding natural beauty to the new Shorewood Disc Golf Course, making it one of the premier courses in the state.
“I was out there for a few days on this gorgeous property and I couldn’t be more excited for this project to be completed in the coming months,” said Leiviska. “There is such a great mix of open/wooded, rolling elevation, water hazards and a wooded/ravine section that will give this track a balanced variety of throws.”
